Our fingerprint process on the jewelry uses a true scale application. However some of our competitors will disect a portion from the fingerprint and magnify it and then apply it to the jewelry. Whereas we are using most of the fingerprint given and scaling to the size of the pendant it gets applied to.

Application of Finger Prints and Photos
Finger prints can be obtained from ink or any finger print scanner. We can work with either of these two mediums. However, if it is an ink impression it is best to photograph it with a cell phone camera and then email it to us. The closer and more focused finger print pictures are, the more detail we can transpose onto the metal. Please note that the image we receive is exactly how it will appear on the pendant. For example, if some or all of the print is blurry and/or smooth then that will show up on the pendant. • Pictures are preferred to be received in the form of camera-ready art and close-up in order to get the most detail. For example, a picture from a digital camera of a persons head shot is better quality for us than using a film camera and/or taking a whole body shot. Head shots should consist of half the persons torso on up to the head. This will allow for a more clear transfer onto the pendant.
Finger Print Instructions When Using Ink
When taking a finger print please do not roll, smear or press firmly. Just tap the finger with moderate to light pressure onto a plain white sheet of paper with at least 3 different impressions, based on the following detailed instructions: First, make sure there is an even amount of ink on the finger then gently and evenly go straight down and tap the surface of the paper. This will give us a nice even print with lines of distinction. Remember, how it appears digitally or on paper is exactly how it appears on the pendant. Once a good and clear print is taken, it is best to photograph it with a smart device or digital camera and then email it to us. A close-up and more focused finger print picture yields more detail, so we can transpose onto the metal. Please note that the image we receive is exactly how it will appear on the metal. For example, if some or all of the print is blurry and/or smooth then that will show up on the pendant.
The Best Type Of Photographs
For use with our “Print-Only” Jewelry pendants it is best to have camera ready art or digital photographs wherever possible. Whether the photo is in digital format or a physical copy, please do not alter these prior to sending them to us. In other words, If the photo is loaded onto your computer or smart device, DO NOT COMPRESS (i.e. zip folder) the photo or crop it in any way. The larger the data size and resolution the better. If you need the photo altered just tell us what you would like to see in terms of cropping.
NOTE, If you have to scan a physical photo to a computer, always try to scan using 1200 dpi or higher. Most of the time taking a picture with a smart device is better than a computer scanner. The image we receive is exactly how it will appear on the pendant.
